Nursery Design for First Time Parents in Battery Park Rental in New York

We designed a nursery for a sweet little baby girl to first time parents. Our design was to create a neutral blush sophisticated and functional (always functional design) nursery without any custom work as this was a rental unit. With a combination of colors and neutrals, custom art and a playful canopy, we created a nursery which is soft, cute and makes you go "wow" as soon as you're in it. Once we had a the layout finalized, we started looking for specifics. The color palette we came up with is grounded in neutrals with blush accents to add a touch of baby girl. We always want to maximise function in our design, so all our bigger purchases are gender neutral and convertible so they can be used when our clients have their second baby.
We left plenty of empty space in the middle of the room for the essential tummy time and block building.

The art above brings the whole room together with the colors and organic prints.
Needless to say, its a convertible crib in gray upholstery, if and when a baby boy should join the family.

It'll be the perfect background for many milestone pictures to come and make this nursery the talk of the town.

And now, the functional corner of the room. All the rocking, burping and changing happens here. We found the perfect dresser and swapped the knobs to make it playful. We found the perfect dresser and swapped the knobs to make it playful. The changing table has extra room for diapers and wipes. The Glider is in child proof sunbrella upholstery and it has performed as expected already. The floor lamp and the Miffy lamp have dimmers and are fitted with smart bulbs that can be controlled by the phone.

The dresser is a dresser and will grow with our little girl once she is past diapers and onwards to makeup / books / maps. The wood has an aged white finish and will carry the wear and tear of growing up beautifully.
